As you go through each page of this web-site, you will notice that nothing is hearsay or gut feelings. Everything you read is what David Dobson himself presented to us from the day he killed Dolly (Darlene) in 1982 to now.
This site is to show that Dobson is not ready for freedom and gives us strong reasons to believe he will re-offend by killing again. The page “Catch Me If You Can" contains the letter Dobson wrote to the police. He writes of the nightmare he put Dolly through that night, and most importantly, he writes that he will kill again to celebrate the anniversary of Dolly and himself. He also reveals he did not know her, never met her and never heard of her until the night he killed her. In the letter he also tells of how he tormented the staff of the place where he murdered and left Dolly’s body; he told them of explosives he had planted underground and informed them they had three minutes to live. Then Dobson called them back to say they now had only one and a half minutes left to live. He had them scared for their lives and they believed him. After all, they did just find a body in their work place backyard, and David Dobson took responsibility for the murder.
The page titled “In The News” shows some, but not all of the articles about Dolly’s murder. In many of the articles you will see quotes from both his letter of “Catch Me If You Can” to comments and events from inside the courtroom.
Then, there is a copy of his statement to the police posted on this site, which he wrote with details of what he did. This letter has slight differences from the letter of "Catch Me If You Can", but still basically conveys how twisted and sick he is.
As stated in his letter, Dobson killed Dolly for two reasons:
1) Dolly begged him not to touch her and asked him to spare her life. She tried the excuse that she did not want to get pregnant, so he killed her to avoid that.
2) He “read it in a magazine”.
We also have a video of David Dobson in an interview with Life Line. In this interview, Dobson is 35 years old and has been incarcerated since April 12, 1982. That makes him 17 years old when he killed Dolly. You will SEE and HEAR Dobson say “Frankly, I’m feeling pretty comfortable about serving time, it’s quite easy to do“. He says it feels like home. Statistics show that when an ex-inmate misses home, they will commit the same offence in order to go back in, or go back home as they know it to be.
The sad thing about all of this is that our family will never know the truth of what happened to Dolly that night. Our family does not believe that Dolly was hitch-hiking and the only person who can tell us is David Dobson. How do you believe a killer, a killer who has shown no remorse?
